BACKGROUND
As a classroom teacher, I realized that my yearbook staffers were
having
more fun than I was, because they got to do all the hands-on layout,
writing, and photography.
Since leaving the classroom, I've produced product shipment materials,
edited software manuals, researched training videos, and
developed 6-12 curriculum
materials.
After going through three downsizings, I became a full-time
freelancer in 1999. Taking courses towards a master's in adult learning
made me realize that I missed teaching, so I became an adjunct
composition
instructor at Hamilton College in 2003. I continue to provide writing
and editing services from my home office in Des Moines, IA.
